This Privacy Policy describes how FixGrid ("FixGrid", "we", "us", "our"), operated by Pawan Kumar (Udyam-registered MSME, India), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our website www.fixgrid.in, our Customer mobile application, our Engineer mobile application, and any related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, mobile number, email address, password (stored hashed), profile photo
- Customer-specific: service address, alternate contact numbers, preferred service slots
- Engineer-specific: full name, date of birth, address, Aadhaar number (last 4 digits stored), PAN number, bank account details, skills, service zones, ID-proof selfie
- Job content: service descriptions, photos uploaded for problem diagnosis or invoice proof, ratings and reviews you submit
- Communications: messages exchanged through our in-app chat, support tickets you raise, feedback you provide
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, app version
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, time spent, click events, errors encountered
- Location data: precise GPS location (engineers only, while on duty); approximate location (customers, for finding nearby engineers)
- Network information: IP address, mobile network operator, connection type
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies for keeping you logged in, analytics cookies for understanding usage
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

3. Third-Party Service Providers
FixGrid uses the following third-party service providers to operate the platform. Each provider only receives the minimum data necessary for its function, governed by its own privacy policy:

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your contact details with marketers.
4. Location Data
FixGrid relies on location data to function:
- Customers: we request approximate location once during job booking to find engineers nearby. Precise location is optional and used only if you allow it for accurate dispatch.
- Engineers: we collect precise GPS location only while you are on an active job (from "On the way" until "Job completed"). Location collection stops automatically when the job ends or when you set yourself offline.
You can disable location permissions from your device settings at any time. Without location access, the app's core features (matching, tracking) will not work.
5. Push Notifications & WhatsApp Messages
We send transactional messages (OTPs, job assignments, payment confirmations, dispute updates) through:
- WhatsApp using approved Meta Business templates — required for OTP delivery
- Push notifications via Firebase to your device
- Email via SMTP for invoices and password resets
Promotional/marketing messages are sent only with your prior opt-in. You can opt out of promotional messages at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or disabling notifications in app settings. Transactional messages essential to the service cannot be disabled while you have an active account.
6. Payment Information
All payment information (card numbers, UPI IDs, net-banking credentials) is collected and processed directly by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment gateway. FixGrid never sees, stores, or has access to your full card details. We only receive a payment confirmation (success/failure), an order ID, and the last 4 digits of the card if applicable.
7. Engineer KYC & Identity Verification
To register as an engineer on FixGrid, you must complete a KYC process. We collect:
- Aadhaar number — verified via Sandbox.co.in's UIDAI-compliant API. We retain only the last 4 digits.
- PAN number — verified for tax compliance. Stored in encrypted form.
- Selfie photograph — used for facial match against your Aadhaar photo. Stored for 90 days then automatically deleted.
- Bank account details — used for payouts. Stored in encrypted form, masked when displayed.
This information is shared only with Sandbox.co.in for verification and our hosting provider for storage. It is never shared with customers or marketers.
8. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements:
- Account information: retained while account is active; deleted within 90 days of account deletion request
- Job history and invoices: retained for 7 years (Indian Income Tax Act requirement)
- Chat messages: retained for 1 year then archived
- Selfies (KYC): 90 days post-verification, then deleted
- Location history: 30 days, then aggregated and personally-identifiable copies deleted
- Logs and analytics: 12 months
9. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
- HTTPS / TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Passwords hashed using bcrypt
- Sensitive fields (PAN, bank details) encrypted at rest
- Authentication tokens with limited lifetimes (30 days)
- Restricted database access — only authorized administrators
- Regular security patches applied to all server software
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you without undue delay through the app, email, or WhatsApp.
10. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information (most fields are editable in the app's profile section)
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent for marketing messages at any time
- Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
- Grievance: raise concerns with our designated Grievance Officer (see Section 13)
To exercise any of these rights, email support@fixgrid.in with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.
11. Children's Privacy
FixGrid is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@fixgrid.in and we will delete it immediately.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via in-app banner or push notification at least 7 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
